Preparing your contribution

We prefer documents marked up in standard LaTeX (suggestions about the use of LaTeX). We also accept Microsoft Word, in which case, you must supply us with the graphics as separate files (see below).

We provide general guidelines to grammar and to CERN style, as well as instructions and templates for CERN publications.

Templates

Graphics

The final page make-up incorporates both text and figures. Therefore we need the source of the figures supplied as separate files. We accept the following formats: Encapsulated PostScript (EPS), PDF, PNG, TIFF, and JPEG. When preparing your figures please be careful with light colours, which might be difficult to distinguish or even to see when the report is printed (in black and white).

Copy-editing

An English-mother-tongue copy-editor will check the English and the completeness of your document (figures, references and bibliography). The copy-editor is responsible for the preparation of documents for publication and works in close collaboration with authors. She has experience in the publishing and production of scientific documents and knowledge of bibliographic standards for references. She ensures your document's conformity to the styles and layout required.

You can send us comments by email.
